DIVISIONS Food, Packaging & Materials Division : Research Activity






Innovation within the food and packaging industry is quite adequately supported from the scientific point of view by the expertise and competence of FPM Division, in terms of realization of projects and of new initiatives, operating both during the planning of the research and during its realization.
FPM Division has the culture and the resources to develop a specific research project and is able to propose adequate synergies in order to industrialize the achievements of the experimentation.  
FPM Division can supply a highly qualified support to packaging manufacturers and utilizers in terms of design and development of new packages, satisfying all the new market regulations:

  • Use of new materials and polymers in compliance with precise requirements (i.e. biodegradability, use of recycled materials, etc.);
  • Verification of new structures and composition of materials;
  • Verification of the functional character of active and intelligent packages;
  • Verification and evaluation of the peculiar characteristics (opening/closing modes, diffusional and sensorial properties...)
  • Suitability to the various fields of application ( thermal resistance, exposure to microwaves, very high barriers, gas and vapours absorbers);
  • Verification of the performances by means of ASLT processes;
  • Presentation of the project to the customer;
prototypifying of tens of innovative packages, packaging in modified atmosphere (MAP), definition of the shelf life complying with the imposed qualitative requirements.
