European Directive Division: Directive 89/106/CE, Construction materials (CPD)

It is a community act that compulsorily imposes the CE marking on all products used in “building construction”,ranging from base elements such inert matter,cement,floorings,insulating panels to components such doors,windows,glass walls,to safety elements against fires such heat and smoke and heat control systems, fireplugs and,to finish,with all the accessories to conduct and supply water.
CE marking shows that the construction products comply with the requirements of a specific harmonized norm and can freely circulate on the EU market.

Attestation of Conformity Systems (AoC):
The attestation of conformity criteria which vary according to the product and the relevant reference harmonized norm,are the following:

• System 1+: this system provides for the certification of conformity granted by a notified body which carries out an evaluation of the conformity of the product type with the reference harmonized norm and also a continuous surveillance of the factory production control (FPC),also with periodic sampling both from factory and from market.
• System 1: this system provides for the certification of conformity granted by a notified body which carries out an evaluation of the conformity of the product type with the reference harmonized norm and also a continuous surveillance of the FPC.
• System 2+: this system provides for the declaration of conformity granted by the manufacturer on the basis of initial type test (ITT) carried out under its own responsibility and the intervention of a notified body which performs the continuous surveillance of the FPC.
• System 2: this system provides for the declaration of conformity granted by the manufacturer on the basis of ITT carried out under its own responsibility  and the intervention of a notified body which carries out an initial inspection of the factory and of a FPC.
• System 3: this system provides for the declaration of conformity granted by th e manufacturer on the basis of ITT carried out by a notified laboratory and a FPC performed under its own responsiblity.
• System 4: this system provides for the declaration of conformity granted by the manufacturer on the basis of ITT and a FPC performed under its own responsibility.
