CSI is authorized by the Ministry of the Interior for the certifications of fire reaction and fire resistance for the aim of State homologation.
CSI’s fire laboratories perform research activity in co-operation with public Bodies such as Centro Studi ed Esperienze dei Vigili del Fuoco di Roma Capannelle (C.S.E.) (Fire-men Research and Investigation Centre, near Rome) ,CNR (National Scientific Research Council) and normative Bodies, e. g. UNI,ISO,CEI, principally concerned with the definition and the development of evaluation criteria and testing methods.
Fire reaction and resistance laboratories are part of EGOLF (European Group of Official Laboratories for Fire) , an international organization that supports ,under a technical profile, harmonized normative proposals at european level. CSI technicians, delegated by UNI, represent Italy in CEN ( European Standardization Committee) technical committees.
CSI is accredited by SINAL for the fire reaction and fire resistance tests within Europe. CSI has entered mutual recognition agreements with important international laboratories working in the same field.
